“Fluid Painting”-The Flying Horse -Original

Artwork Description

“Fluid Painting” - The Flying Horse is a one-of-a-kind original painting by YIFAN ZHANG. The artwork captures a horse in motion, rising through flowing color with the energy of speed, freedom, and blessing.

In Chinese culture, the horse is a symbol of vitality, success, courage, and forward movement. Connected with the spirit of the Horse Year, this work carries wishes for a life that runs with strength, arrives with good fortune, and moves bravely toward a brighter future.

At 63.0 × 78.7 in, this original fluid painting has a bold vertical presence. Its red foundation gives the piece its emotional power: red is the color of celebration, protection, joy, and prosperity in Chinese life. Here, red becomes more than a background. It becomes the cultural ground from which the flying horse rises.

Background Story

For many Chinese families, the Year of the Horse carries expectations of movement, achievement, and renewed luck. People hope for ma dao cheng gong, the blessing of success arriving as swiftly as a horse reaches its destination. This painting turns that wish into a living visual form.

YIFAN ZHANG uses fluid painting to make the horse feel alive, as if its mane, body, and spirit are formed by wind, red silk, and festive fire. The flowing pigments suggest both the speed of a gallop and the grace of traditional Chinese auspicious imagery.

The result is a work full of life force: a red, energetic, culturally rooted painting about momentum, blessing, courage, and the Chinese hope that good fortune can arrive with power and beauty.
